Some letters require special fixing solutions for example the surface they are mounted to is not accessible from the rear and the cables can not be connected.

There are a number of fixing solutions below and another option is a 5mm aluminium mounting plate which is laser cut to the letter shapes with a discrete transition between each letter. Suspension bars and wall fixings can also be included in this plate if required. The wiring can be kept very discrete with flat ribbon cables.

A live “plug in” connection is achieved using RCA plugs. Only recommended for indoor applications.

DUAL CHANNEL

“U” profile channels are available in three sizes. 10mm x 10mm, 15mm x 15mm & 20mm x 20mm. The letters are pre mounted to the rails and ready for installation.

SINGLE CHANNEL

25mm x 25mm & 30mm x 30mm options are available for this discrete fishbone solution

Individual illuminated letters are an indispensable part of the communication repertoire of today’s shopfront branding but not all individual letters are equal.

The MBX profile doesn’t change everything but very decisive criteria have been optimised. Traditionally, optimum light distribution in shallow letters was achieved through the encapsulation of LEDs in a clear mass (resin bound).

The major disadvantage of such letters is poor heat dissipation and above all no access. Maintenance and replacement of permanently encapsulated LEDs was not possible and LED failures meant that the entire sign had to be replaced, sometimes after only a very short time.

The resolve this issue and after a development phase of more than 2 years MBX was launched and has proved to be a game changer.

With numerous endurance tests, this system is now perfected down to the last detail. Menden MBX is available as indoor, outdoor and IP65 versions. The easily accessible Chiplite LED modules allow easy maintenance and excellent heat dissipation.

The luminance levels can be varied according to the purpose of use e.g. in shopping centres and conservation areas. New fixing techniques were developed for MBX as detailed above.

MBX relief letters are 100% recyclable. Menden guarantees to take products back, free of charge, and feed them into the recycling process.

MBX FOR A PERFECT LOOK

MBX profiles set new quality standards that can be seen by looking at the production process. The basic structure consists of three layers of acrylic. The back cover is made of aluminium or translucent acrylic. All standard acrylic materials can be used for the front. Satin finish or multicoloured designs can be easily achieved.

The MBX profile has been perfected

MBX letters are manufactured using fully automated, aeronautical standard, 3D milling machines. Varnish is applied to base acrylic lacquers in a 3-layer process, to achieve 100% opaque coverage of the returns if required. The aluminium backs are laser cut for 100% accuracy. The inside surfaces of the aluminium are coated with a white reflective paint to ensure optimum light distribution.
